Dr. James Melvin Washington
Historian, scholar, teacher and preacher, specializing in the work of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and an African American spirituality that connects prophetic action with deep prayer, his books remain relevant and influential nearly ten years after his untimely death in 1997. On the eve of Dr. King's birthday, we fondly remember Washington's life and work.
