The date and meaning of Pentecost

Arguably Pentecost is the most important holiday of the entire Christian year, as it marks the origin of the Church itself.  Also, arguably it is the least appreciated among the holiest of days.  Part of this is a blessing, as Pentecost is not despoiled by the commercial excesses associated with Christmas or Easter.  This year it is celebrated on June 8th.  For more on the significance of the day and its dates for other years ….
