Jeff's Afghan Diary

Not long ago I received an email from Jeff Courter, a member of the Illinois National Guard, now on duty in Afghanistan. Jeff volunteered to write regular reports of his tour of duty, beginning with his immediate feelings about leaving his family and heading off to a dangerous battle zone.

-- Jeff Courter

Jeff's generous offer to share his wartime experiences on the GodWeb was something I could not refuse, especially because he sees his service to this country very much as a journey of spiritual discovery in which he will learn more about his own faith, as well as the Muslim faith of the Afghans with whom he will be working as a military advisor.

I have enjoyed reading Jeff's early emails and the first of his articles. I invite you to share the journey with Jeff. And you are invited to send a message to Jeff. Please leave comments for Jeff here.
