Beit Shean. The
National Park here houses some of Israel’s most spectacular archaeology.
The site features a large amphitheater (with a capacity of about 7,000),
a Byzantine era street, ritual baths, a pottery workshop, a basilica, and
a Roman temple. As a Roman city this was once a crossroads of the world,
with travelers and traders stopping here during passages to the east and
west, north and south.
