Edited by Charles Henderson<\/p>\n<p>The Rev. Charles P. Henderson is a Presbyterian minister and author of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Faith-Science-Future-Charles-Henderson\/dp\/0974701327\"><em>Faith, Science and the Future<\/em><\/a>, published in 1994 by CrossCurrents Press. Though the contributors to this book come from radically different backgrounds, and hold very different views of the relationship between faith and science, together they confirm Albert Einstein&#8217;s aphorism: &#8220;Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.&#8221; This gathering of voices from fields as diverse as theology and evolutionary biology supports the view that people of faith have little to fear from science; in fact, constructive engagement with the sciences is essential to the vitality of religion as well as the health of democratic society itself.<\/p>\n<p>He is also the author of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/God-Science-Death-Rebirth-Theism\/dp\/0804206686\"><em>God and Science<\/em><\/a> (John Knox \/ Westminster, 1986) which he is now rewriting to incorporate more recent developments in the conversation taking place between scientists and theologians. He has also written widely for such publications as The New York Times, The Nation, Commonweal, The Christian Century and others.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his current position as editor of GodWeb, he was Executive Director of <em>CrossCurrents<\/em>, an interfaith organization that publishes the magazine of that name and sponsors educational programs in New York City and on college campuses across the country, encouraging people of faith to integrate \u201cthe wisdom of the heart and the life of the mind.\u201d\u00a0 <em>CrossCurrents<\/em> promotes a more thoughtful application of the deepest resources of world religious traditions to the problems that are of concern to people of all faiths.<\/p>\n<p>Henderson served as pastor to congregations in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. He was also a Chaplain at Princeton University. He is a graduate of Princeton and Union Theological Seminary.
