When Does Life Begin?
Once again the debate over abortion and, to a lesser degree, stem cell research, is figuring in US Presidential politics. John McCain, Sarah Palin, Joe Biden and Barack Obama have all expressed strong views. Sarah Palin is especially appealing to those who see abortion as a litmus test that is determinative of who is or is not qualified to become President of the United States.
In much of this discussion it is taken as a given that the "Bible teaches life begins at conception." In fact, the Bible teaches no such thing. Let's take a closer look at what the Bible actually affirms about the origins of human life. ...
